"1. Participation Statement


BE THE STORM recognises that hill walking, hiking, camping and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions. You understand that you are empowered to ask questions about the event and your suitability to take part.


BE THE STORM has developed a comprehensive risk assessment. Events are carried out in accordance with this risk assessment in order to minmise the inherent risks. A Safety brief will be delivered at the start of the event, and where appropriate relevant training will be provided,  to enable participants to have a positive, safe, experience.  You understand that you are empowered and encouraged to ask questions regarding any aspect of the activity.


All bookings are on the basis that the customer will, at all times, observe the safety regulations set out and communicated by the company. 


By booking on to a BE THE STORM LTD event you accept that you are participating in any activities of your own accord, entirely at your own risk & expressly accept that neither BE THE STORM LTD or the any its instructors / organisers have any responsibility or liability for loss or injury.


By booking on to a BE THE STORM LTD event you you confirm you are fit, have no pre existing medical conditions which will affect your suitability to participate in the chosen activity.  You must be personally satisfied that you are able to manage any medical condition (including  asthma, epilepsy or diabetes) for the duration of the event but agree to share any relevant medical information with the event supervision team to ensure that your own, and the safety of the group is not compromised in an emergency situation.

This information will be treated sensitively and will not be retained beyond the event in line with data protection legislation.


We recommend you take out appropriate insurance for any activities/travel that you engage in. 


2. Booking and Fees


Bookings can me made directly thorigh the BE THE STORM LTD website or through the BE THE STORM meetup.com booking facility or by direct bank transfer.  All bookings are to paid in advance, with some events based on a 50% deposit payable on booking and the balance due 28 days ahead of the event. Note: Failure to pay the balance of the fee will result in the loss of the deposit and forfeit your place on the event.


The event information will detail inclusions and exclusions covering transport, food, equipment usage and accomodation.


All event fees are non refundable by default unless the company prior to the event taking place cancels, reschedules or significantly changes the event location for any reason including forecasted severe weather that prevents the safe execution of the activity.  


If under extenuating circumstances you are unable to attend your booked event please get in touch as early as possible - in the first instance we will offer a transfer to an alternative date, but provided we recieve notification from you at least 14 days beforehand we may be able to offer a partial refund provided we are able to resell the place or have not incurred unrecoverable costs. 


Note: Decisions made during the event that are made for the safety and wellbeing of the group, which could include amendments to schedule, location and ultimately stopping an event will not automatically result in a refund or partial refund. The organiser shall review the circumstances and determine whether refunds or partial refunds are appropriate and communicate accordingly.


3. Equipment 


If you attend a trip it is your responsibility to read the kit list thoroughly and the event organiser has the discretion to turn away any person who does not attend with suitable clothing or equipment.


All equipment provided by BE THE STORM LTD remains the property of the company unless explictly communicated otherwise.


The customer is responsible for the safekeeping of all equipment issued for use during the event. With the exception of fair wear and tear the company reserves the right to charge for equipment that has been lost or misused.


4. Third party services


BE THE STORM LTD may contract third party services including accomodation, transport and instructors. BE THE STORM LTD will endevour to select service providers appropriate to the event but retains the right to change providers without prior consultation to meet operarational needs.


Should a service provider fail to meet expectations resulting in dissatisfaction, then customers should liase with BE THE STORM lTD staff in the first instance to enable a resolution to be found.  


You agree that BE THE STORM LTD bares no responsibility for the accuracy of information regarding public transport, costs, times and conditions of carriage.


5. Dietary requirements


We endeavour to cater for all dietary requirements, but please let us know your requirements when completing your booking confirmation form.


6. Legal


Any claim or dispute will be settled in a UK court.


7. Agreement


By signing up to a BE THE STORM LTD activity or event you are confirming that you agree with the BE THE STORM LTD terms and conditions and participation statement."
